January 09, 1944 Real Estate Married 4
After all these years, I still miss all of you wonderful people from Granite High. I do not think the spirit of Granite every really leaves us. I feel priviledged to have known all of the students, teachers and coaches from Granite.
After Granite, I graduated from the University of Utah and started my career in the medical industry. I spent six years in the pharmaceutical business and thirty five years in the heart pacemaker/defibrillator business.
I married my sweet wife, Teri, 46 years ago. She is a graduate of Highland High, but we won´t hold that against her. We have four wonderful children. Twin boys and two daughters. We also have eight grand kids. Five boys and three girls. My profession afforded me the opportunity to travel all over the world and live in many parts of the United States. Our home now, is in St. George, Utah.
Teri and I recently returned from serving an LDS mission in Cleveland, Ohio, where we loved serving the Elders, Sisters and the people of Cleveland. Before that, we served a mission in Bogota Colombia. We love the young missionaries and the Colombian people.

March 06, 1944 retired Married 2
In September of 1962, Rick Rowsell and I went into the Huddle at the U for a cup of coffee.  We were up to scout out the locations of our fall quarter classes.  I told him I had a feeling that I was going to like being there.  And I did.  Forty-four years later, with a BA and MFA, I retired from the University of Utah ... that was five years ago.
After nearly 40 years raising money for this college and that, and worrying about the business side of Pioneer Theatre, our daughter decided I needed to have something to better occupy my time -- a year later she and her husband provided me a granddaughter to tend.  Two years later, a second.  So, I've been to the zoo, museums, arboretum, galleries, and parks a lot in the last five years.

I married well.  I'm pleased to admit that the woman I've lived with for the past 42 years has made me a better person.   We're the proud parents of two children who have excelled in spite of their upbringing.  Our daughter is in the family business of fund raising for academia and our son is a veterinarian.  We have the two grandchildren and three grand dogs.

My plans include more travel. If it hadn't have been for the ruptured Achilles in Berlin five years ago, or the fall that broke my hip two years ago, I'd be off seeing the world right now.   We've enjoyed our
cruises on the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the Elbe; the trains of Europe; and the blue-footed boobies of the Galapagos and the llamas of Machu Picchu.  So far, it's been a great ride.  But now, I've got a date for next August and less than a year to remember what went on in the halls of the S Building 50 years ago.  Perhaps, I should channel Nell Madsen for some assistance.
