Retired Married 3
Hi All - time certainly flies for all of us, 50 years WOW!

For me:  following a couple of degrees at the "U", a commission & stint in the US Air Force, I began a career in education and the educational publishing industry.  I taught US History (thanks Mr. Rassmussen) at Viewmont & Highland High Schools for a couple of years and through that association I began a long term career in sales & sales management with the leading educational publishing firms in America, McGraw-Hill, Harcourt, & Scholastic - recently retiring as a Regional Vice President for McGraw-Hill.  I continue to do some part time consulting.  My publishing career enabled me to see America, live in numerous cities, and accumulate more frequent flyer miles and Marriott Hotel points than I thought possible.
On a personal side, life has treated me well, blessing me with two sons, a wonderful wife, Shari, who I met 16 years ago while living in Sacramento - and, with that marriage a step son.
After all the years on the road, I still have that travel itch - so, Shari and I spend our time using those frequent flyer miles & Marriott points in world wide travel - recently living as "locals" in France.  We live in the Seattle area, enjoying the Northwest lifestyle, supporting the Seahawks & Mariners.  When the Seattle weather gets to us, we head for Cabo or Hi.
Hope to see you all soon.  In my mind's eye, we all are still walking down the hall, hurrying to class - being careful not to step on the block "G".

August 09, 1943 retired Married 4

I am married to a wonderful person from Bountiful High named Kathy Petersen. We have 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We plan on celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary by taking our children and their spouses to Europe next year. We have a handicapped Son who lives in a group home in Sandy. After high school I obtained an Associate Degree in Electronics. My wife graduated from the University of Omaha in Special Education. After 35 years in numerous positions working for Union Pacific Railroad in Utah and Nebraska, I retired in 1999 as General Director of Telecommunications. We recently spend a month in the Netherlands visiting with my Dutch relatives who I last visited 50 years ago. We love retirement and spend most of the winter in our home at St George, summers at our cabin in Timberlakes, and the rest of the time at Saratoga Springs on Utah Lake. We love traveling, visiting our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in Nebraska and Arizona. If I knew that retirement was going to be this much fun I would have started right after I graduated from high school.

So much has happened since we last rubbed shoulders in the halls of Granite High School that I really don't know where to begin so I'll just say that I'm grateful to still be alive and kicking.  I've touched base with a few of you and it has been great catching up.  It appears that we've all had a pretty good life and have taken care of ourselves for the most part and I think we can be proud of our accomplishments.  I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.....Go Granite alums! May 16, 1944 Retired business owner toliberty.com Married 6
After Granite H.S., I met and married my sweetheart, Charlene, and we have been married for 46 years.  I received an AS Degree in Marketing from LDS Business College.  I worked in the corporate world for 10 years and then we started our own businesses.  We had diamond jewelry stores in Colordo, Utah and Wyoming, a chain of fitness centers in metropolitan Denver and other businesses, one of which is still operating in the financial benefits industry.

I am currently serving on three boards and was a founder of the Center for Entrepreneurship in the Marriott School at BYU-Provo approximately 20 years ago.  I am still  actively involved there.

We have served 4 missions for the LDS Church.  We love to travel all over the world.  When we were younger, our favorite spot was Lake Powell.  We regularly visit the fitness facility in our area for great workouts!

Our greatest joy are our 6 kids and our 23 grandkids.  We love spending time with them.

I would like to hear from any of my classmates.
