Linda Ushio (Inouye)
ESL Teacher Married 5Thank you Gorm and Reunion Committee for the hours of work and energy and enthusiasm expended to make this gathering possible!
To my friends and classmates, I have enjoyed reading your bios and catching up on the last 50 years of your lives, all the while remembering the happy times we spent together at Granite.
After graduating from the "U" with a degree in elementary education, I taught for three years in Utah, then moved to the D.C. area with my new husband and sweetheart, Ron Inouye. I taught school for one year in McLean, Virginia. Ron graduated from law aschool and we moved to New York for what I was promised would not be more than three years. Forty-two years, five children and eleven grandchildren later we are still here. But, now I love it! Our children are grown and are far flung (along with our grandchildren), but each is doing well. Ron still practices law in Manhattan and I returned to teaching when the children were grown. I teach ESL at an elementary school in the suburbs where we live. We have been active in our church and community and have made friends from all over the world. Life is good!
Can hardly wait to see you all again.
I married Toni Campbell in 1965 and we have five children. I girl and 4 boys. We lost our daughter in December to a sudden illness and we are still recovering from that.
It's been a good life and I was really lucky along the way. I got to do exactly what I wanted to do for my lifes work. It's hard to believe we are celebrating the 50th. Hello to all and good luck to all of you.

50 years? Maybe 10 years, but for sure not 50. Life has been too good to me, according to my mother, she always believed I could do any errand or task she ever wanted or needed at any time! She was sure I never had a real job.
We have a family of 6 children and 13 grand children and 2 dogs, Served 2 yrs in the Gulf States Mission shortly after high school; came back home to live in the small town of Provo, attended both the "Y" and the "U" still can't decide!
Becki Sue, my wife and sweet heart, has been at my side with full support of every daredevil adventure I've ever wanted to do. Ridden the Baja 3 times and Central Mexico in the Sierra Madres 2 times all on off road morocycles and returned no worse for the wear, just a few broken things like knee, back, shoulder, foot, ribs, etc.
Have spent a lifetime of buying, selling and developing real estate, it has never felt like a job.
We live in a modest old, old home in Holladay and spend our time together with the grandkids, camping, biking, skiing, traveling and mostly having a lot of special times with each other. I can't retire when no one thinks I've ever worked, so I continue to do what I love, build and develop real estate projects, and my wife still puts up with me, I am so lucky!

The years have flown by, and I too don’t know where they have gone... It seems like only a short time ago some of we “Farmers” on graduation night were getting on a bus and heading for the Colorado River.
I’m the co-founder of the Jensen family having been married to Carl W. Jensen (1960 Jordan Beetdigger) for over 47 years. As of 2011 we have three wonderful children, 10 awesome grandchildren, and one precious great-granddaughter.
As far as occupations go I have had many hats on ~ One girl-office/secretary while in high school; typist in yellow pages at telephone company; 1967 attended beauty school and opened my beauty shop in 1968 to now - still "clipping" along; 2004 opened a transport business with our son, Clarke, of which I keep the books; Genealogist for over 40 years... researched ours and other people's ancestors in The Netherlands. In between all these jobs I have been my husbands caregiver. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1967 and has been confined to a wheelchair for several years. Then for eight years (combined) I cared for my Mom and Mother-in-law in our home. We have not allowed Carl’s wheelchair confinement to stop us from traveling, having been to Europe, Australia, and all over the USA. In fact, we were on the streets of New York the morning of 9/11/2001… which was certainly an experience we shall never forget! Our favorite trip was when we visited the homeland of our ancestors, The Netherlands. We also have been on cruises and I found that a cruise is the easiest way to travel with someone wheelchair bound.
I’m looking forward to visiting with all our classmates at our reunion Aug 18, 2012... hope to see you then!

June 27, 1944 retired Married 5I have lived in Utah, Washington, California and Idaho.
I graduated from UofU. During the last 50 years I have been busy volunteering at school, rearing 5 children, teaching piano, serving in leadership positions in church and local music organizations, attending the activities of my fourteen grandchildren and trying to keep my sanity.
August 23, 1944 retired Married 2
Since graduating 50 years ago I worked for the UTA. An early retirement offer was proposed for qualified employees so after 28 years as a mechanic and supervisor I retired. Since then I have worked for various other companies including the Salt Lake Olympic Committee. I am now retired. I married Ruth Ann Powell in 1972. We have two daughters and six grandchildren. Aside from traveling for the Olympic Committee most of my travel has been between Salt Lake and Idaho to our farm.

June 29, 1944 teacher Married 4After graduating from the grand old G, I attended the
U of U, graduating with an English major, socoiology minor, and secondary education certificate. I married Win Jones (Olympus '61). We have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. I have been teaching language arts and reading at West Jordan Middle School for the past 15 years. I love teaching and plan to retire after my 20th year. Wish me luck!
I love spending time with family and friends. I especially love hanging out with my grandchildren, joining in on family guitar and singing jam sessions (good times!), golfing with Win, and curling up with a good book.
I am looking forward to the reunion and catching up on the past... 50 years...yikes! A big thanks to Gorm, Joyce, and all others who have worked so hard and diligently to make this reunion happen! And, Gorm, I'm still a beta woman at heart
