May 18, 1944 Retired teacher kgarry.wordpress.com/ Married 3

Hi, y'all. Who would have guessed we'd be where we are today? Certainly not me.

I've been married to the same woman now for forty-one years, the former Natalie DeBeauford from Weatherford, Texas.  I have three grown sons, one of whom has produced three grandchildren for me, and a great granddaughter.

I've just retired this year from teaching -- surprise, surprise. I taught multiple subjects to secondary-grade students in private schools for two years – math, science, English, history. I then taught World Geography to public school freshmen in Waxahachie, Texas for five years and Economics and Advanced Placement Macroeconomics to seniors for three years.  As a “swan song” career, I loved teaching despite all the political issues involved and frustrations that politicians throw at educators.

In addition to my BA in geography from the University of Utah, I have an MBA from Oklahoma City University.

In June of 1988, I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after twenty-two years of active duty in the United States Army.  I was a Field Artilleryman, a helicopter pilot, and an operational tester of new weapons systems.  The later vocation occupied the last ten years of my military career and twelve years thereafter as a consultant for the Department of Defense and defense industries. Yes, I saw combat in Vietnam.  While still in uniform, I had overseas assignments in both Korea and Germany.

Check out my blog, The World According to Opa, if you have the time and are interested.

Married 7
After marriage I attended the U of  U and starting a family interrupted my graduation.  After the kids started coming,  I worked in home party sales "Tupperware" for 12 years. After which I became a para-professional for the Granite School District and was there for 17 years. I worked with at risk children which I enjoyed and gained a great deal of satisfaction. We lived in the South Cottonwood area for 29 years, then moved to Draper for the past 11 years. I have been married for 48 years, have 7 children, and 25 grandchildren. I am currntly serving in the Young Womens organization, and enjoy making jewelry and crafts. My husband and I love to check out the trails of the Utah mountains and deserts in our UTV.

September 10, 1944 Professor insects.tamu.edu Married 3

I am a professor and endowed chair in the department of entomology at Texas A&M University.  I do research, teaching and Extension programming.  Julie and I have 3 sons and 13 grandchildren.  Our family is very spread out, with Shane and his family in Hawaii, Ryan and his family in Finland, and Chris and his family in Waco, Texas.  We have now lived in Texas since 1989, lived in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1977-1989, Tucson, Arizona 1974-77, and in Berkeley, California from 1970-1974.  We still travel back to Utah at least once a year to visit with my parent, both of whom are still alive.  I am looking forward to attending the 50th reunion, and see our class mates once again.

In 1964 I married Mark D. Golder, I was working at Granite School District in the Accounting Department.  In 1966 we had our first child, a son, named Douglas Mark Golder.  I continued to play the flute and later joined the Murray Symphony.  We have lived in Murray all our married life.  We are the proud parents of seven children, 5 boys and 2 girls,  We now hoave 25 grandchildren and one on the way.   I have loved sewing all my life.  I now am a long arm quilter.  I have made many beautiful guilts and entered some in quilt shows.  I love quilting for other people.  I keep busy doing this.  We love to camp and boat as a family.  We plan trips every memorial weekend where all our family and granchildren can attend.  This year we went to Sand Hollow in St. George.  All our family was there except two grandsons who are serving LDS missions.  I have served in many church callings including Primary President, Relief Society President, Young Womens President and many stake callings.  At the present time Mark and I serve at the Jordan River Temple as ordinance workers.  We also serve at the Plantation Branch Care Center.
